The Marble Valley eighth-grade boy’s basketball team won the County Sports League championship earlier this month.
The Mustangs bested Herbert Green, 28-20, in the Dec. 8 championship match at Union Mine High School. Before making it to the final the team faced and defeated teams from Markham (46-29) and Golden Hills (26-12) middle schools.
Truman Andrus averaged 15 points a game while Skyler Rassmussen averaged 9 points.
This is the second basketball championship in the Marble Valley’s 11-year existence.
