Oak Ridge swimmers meet their match

The Oak Ridge swim teams met their match last Tuesday with the boys falling to Jesuit 113-73 and the girls losing to St. Francis by a 103-83 margin.

As it currently stands, the Trojans are ranked second in the Delta River League dual meets for both boys and girls while the Marauders and Troubadours are first.Though Oak Ridge’s varsity boys and girls had six wins total and managed to fill the pool with a lot of first and second place swims, it still wasn’t enough.

Garrison Yeandle placed first in the two sprint freestyle events (50 free, 22.33; and 100 free, 48.45). Joshua Verner touched first in the 200 Individual Medley (2:06.95) and Trevor Dong finished first in the 100 backstrock with a time of  56.11.

The varsity boys relay team took first with a time of 1:45.00.

The girls varsity win came from the 200 free relay event in a time of 1:48.45.

“I am extremely happy with everyone’s efforts in our meet,” Troy coach Patrick Foster said. “No one gave up and we won lots of close races.”
