The Oak Ridge varsity girls volleyball team handily defeated Lincoln High Thursday night in five games. Scores were 25-18, 19-25, 26-24, 18-25 and 15-9.

“Slammin'” Katie Vaughn led across the board with 31 kills (of 67 attempts). Nikki Haggard had 28 assists and Maddie Chambliss led with 25 digs.

Oak Ridge’s record now stands at 20-16.The Lady Trojans will face off with rivals St. Francis Tuesday night in the semifinals round of the Sac-Joaquin Section playoffs.

St. Francis’ superior record of 29-6 and their recent three-game defeat of Napa puts them in a good position to knock Oak Ridge out of the playoffs. But as the girls of Oak Ridge know all too well, anything is possible in playoffs.
