FOLSOM — The Oak Ridge cross country team competed in the Willow Hills Relays in Folsom missing several key runners due to injuries.

“It was a great first meet of the year for the Oak Ridge cross country teams,” Oak Ridge coach Rob Fairley said. “We didn’t field any varsity relay teams because of runners recovering from injuries. Dusty Armstrong, Sean McHone, Zach Thornton, Abby Walker and Reaghan Emrick will hopefully be back soon.”

The Trojans entered eight varsity and six frosh/soph runners who raced as individuals, along with three frosh/soph girls teams and two frosh/soph boys teams. The frosh/soph girls teams took the top three places and the boys were first and fifth.

“The times turned in by the individual racers and the teams were very impressive,” Fairley said. “We have a lot of depth at the frosh/soph level — the future looks very bright.”
