Pereira, Oak Ridge move on to NorCals

STOCKTON — Ponderosa golfer Corey Pereira and the entire Oak Ridge team made the NorCal cut after qualifying performances at Monday’s Masters Tournament at The Reserve at Spanos Park in Stockton.

Pereira carded a 68, four under par, to lead the field by two strokes while the Trojans combined for a score of 385. Both will compete at next Monday’s NorCal Tournament at the Diablo Grande Golf and Country Club in Patterson.

Individually for Oak Ridge, Charlie Cameron shot 72; Quinn Carlsen, 74; Connor Gaymon, 77; Tyler Gunderson, 78; Dylan Van Der Veer, 84; Kevin Macklin, 87. Troy improved five spots over an eighth place finish in 2012. Just three points separated spots 2-3-4 with the top three teams advancing

Pereira’s 68 at last year’s Masters placed him third. The Bruin senior, bound for the University of Washington, recorded three birdies and one eagle Monday afternoon.
