Rain stops Tuesday’s Oak Ridge-Ponderosa softball matchup

SHINGLE SPRINGS — Steady rain forced play to be called Tuesday between host Ponderosa and Oak Ridge in their first Delta River League meeting.

Despite wet conditions and rainfall, the game did start and several pitches in Trojan leadoff Renee Bardini singled to left field off Bruin starter Shasta Stinson. After several pitches to Jackie Schmaeling, the umpires stopped the game.
