SEC celebrates former Trojan

Oak Ridge High School alum Sara Haley, now a junior swimmer at Louisiana State University, was named the Southeastern Conference’s Female Swimmer of the Week.

In a write-up praising Haley last week it was noted that she “aided LSU to first-place finishes in two relays …. She won the 200 butterfly in 1:59.51 and earned gold in the 500 freestyle (4:59.00). Haley, LSU’s record holder in the 200 fly, swam the front leg of the 400 free relay and the back of the 200 medley relay, earning 40 points for the Tigers against Tulane.

“As a bronze medalist in the 200 fly a the SEC Championships last season with a time of 1:56.82 and as a 2011 NCAA Qualifier, Haley will be leaned upon heavily in individual and relay competitions.”
