Sophia wins silver

Sophia Barden placed second at the 55th National Baton Twirling Championships held this year in Daytona Beach, Fla.

The 12-year-old placed first in both state and regional competitions held in California. Her twirling season will continue as she competes in Almere, Holland, next month as the youngest member of the USA Twirling Team.  

The daughter of Craig and Cynthia Barden of El Dorado Hills, Sophia is a member of the Revolution Twirl Club out of Sacramento coached by Kellie Donovan-Perlman and has been twirling for seven years.  She is also coached by Carrie Bergeron of Flip and Twist.
