NFL Flag Football
second through eighth grade
Enjoy the game of football without the physical contact of the traditional sport. League focuses on football fundamentals, teamwork and improving individual skills in a competitive yet fun environment. Practices and games (once a week each) are held at the Promontory synthetic field in El Dorado Hills. Participants receive an official NFL Jersey, a set of NFL flags and a personalized medal. Practices begin in March with games played on Saturday afternoon/evenings ending on May 16. League fee is $140 if registered before the Jan. 23 deadline or $155 thereafter, space permitting. Attendance at a player evaluation is required before teams are formed.
fourth through 12th grade
Join this fast growing and extremely popular sports offering. Teams are formed based on grades and may be combined if necessary. Practices and games are once a week each with games played in the evenings at the CSD gym. Practices begin the week of March 2 and the season ends on May 21. Fee includes jersey and personalized award for each girl. Registration is $140 if completed prior to the Jan. 30 deadline or $155 thereafter (if space available).
Select from multiple nights including Coed and Men’s Leagues. All games are played at the Promontory Community Park adult softball field. The spring leagues begin in late March with a team fee of $465. Winning teams earn championship T-shirts for their efforts. Deadline for registration varies per league ranging from March 19 to April 1 (call office for specifics). Registration opens on Feb. 2 for resident and returning teams and Feb. 9 for non-residents.
7 vs 7
This league plays on Wednesday nights at the Promontory Community Park synthetic field from Feb. 18 to April 8 and again April 22 to June 10. Teams play seven games followed by playoffs for the top four teams with winning team earning championship T-shirts. Team fee is $610 with a team registration deadline of Feb. 10 for the February season and April 14 for the April session.
Children are exposed to the fundamentals of this rapidly growing sport by learning the basics of lacrosse (cradle, scoop, catch, pass and shooting) through fun exercises and drills. All necessary equipment is provided so participants just need to show up ready to play. Camp runs on Saturdays, March 7-28, beginning at 9 a.m. for ages 5 to 7 and 10 a.m. for ages 8 to 10. This camp is held at the Promontory Community Park adult softball field. Fee is $60 and includes a camp T-shirt and gift certificate from a sponsoring local vendor. Registration deadline is Feb. 27 or once maximum numbers are reached.
Pee Wee Basketball
Participants are exposed to the basics of basketball which includes dribbling, passing and shooting. This four-week camp meets on Thursdays, March 5-26, at the Brooks Elementary School gym. Participants can pick from either the 5 p.m. or 6 p.m. time slot. The fee of $60 includes a camp T-shirt, snack and gift card from a local sponsoring vendor. Registration deadline is Feb. 27 or once maximum numbers are reached.
Catch dodgeball fever by playing this fast paced and fun indoor game. Participants have fun while working on their hand-eye coordination, agility and learning the value of teamwork. Teams are formed each night for this four-week session, March 6-27. Camp runs from 6:30 to 7:15 p.m. for four consecutive Fridays at the CSD gym. Camp fee is $50 and includes a camp T-shirt and gift card from a local sponsoring vendor. Registration deadline is Feb. 27 or once maximum numbers are reached.
Adult Flag Football
6 vs. 6 pass only league
Teams play seven games followed by playoffs for the top four teams. Games are played on Sunday afternoons at the Promontory Community Park synthetic field, March 22 through May 17. Team fee is $425 with playoff winners earning championship T-shirts for their efforts. Registration deadline is March 13.
U.K. International Soccer Camp
The focus of this five-day camp is to teach and build upon the fundamentals of soccer. Participants range from beginners to experienced and are grouped by age for teaching and comprehension purposes. The camp held at the CSD files on Harvard Way begins with the basics then progresses to more challenging skills, techniques and scrimmages. Skilled instructors lead players in fun and challenging drills to help motivate learning, interest and participation. This camp runs Monday through Friday, March 30 through April 3, and offers both a half-day (9 a.m. to noon for $139) or a full-day (9 a.m. to 3 p.m. for $185). Children must be 8 or older to enroll in the full-day camp. Registration deadline is March 20 or once maximum numbers are reached.
Pee Wee Soccer
Children are exposed to the fundamentals of soccer by learning how to kick, trap, pass and how to be a goalie. This four-week camp meets on Thursdays, April 9-30, at the Promontory Community Park girls softball field, El Dorado Hills. Parents can pick from 4 p.m. (3-year-olds only with parent participation required) or 5 p.m. and 6 p.m. for ages 4 to 6. Fee is $60 and includes T-shirt, snack and gift card from a sponsoring vendor. Registration deadline is April 3 or once maximum numbers are reached.
Adult 5×5 Basketball
Teams play seven games followed by playoffs for the top four teams. Games are played at the CSD gym on Sunday evenings, April 12 through June 14, with a team fee of $425. Deadline to register is April 4.
Monday Night Pick-Up League
Teams are formed each Monday night of this eight-week pick-up style season. Fee is $20 for the entire season. Season starts April 6. All games are played at the Promontory Community Park adult softball field. For more specifics, call Frank at (916) 614-3223 or just show up on Monday nights beginning at 6 p.m. at the score table.
Adult open gym basketball
Drop in any Monday or Thursday evening at the CSD gym from 8:15 to 10 p.m. for pick-up games. Fee is $4 per visit or buy a five-visit punch card for $15.
