The local U12 Girls Soccer team, The USA Stars, coached by AJ Utush, recently represented Northern California in a SoCal Regional tournament in Orange County.

The Starts was one of six teams that  participated in this “by invitation only” competition.

The girls beat the State Champs from Utah and Washington. They also beat two powerhouse teams in Southern California and tied the So Cal Blues, who are the recent So Cal State Champs.

The Stars remain undefeated this entire season. The team has won four tournaments this year (Davis Cinco de Mayo, Pro-Am Santa Cruz, Elk Grove Adidas Cup and SoCal Regionals) and have a handful more to go this summer, including the Surf Cup in San Diego — one of the biggest soccer tournaments in the country, where only the best of the best are accepted. This team also won the U.S. Club Western Regionals shutting out their four opponents 19-0.

This very special group of girls is mostly based out of El Dorado Hills and Folsom. More details and pictures of their recent tournament victory can be found on bluesbaker.com.
