Track team brings home 35 medals

The Oak Ridge track and field teams competed very well at the King/Glibert Invite on March 12 at Granite Bay High School.

Twenty-three teams competed at this invite. It was a beautiful day for a track meet with sunny skies, mild temperatures, and very little wind.

Several Oak Ridge athletes achieved personal bests. Thirty-five medals were earned by Oak Ridge athletes. Medals were earned by athletes who placed in the top six in an individual event and the top three in a relay event.

The varsity girls team placed first. They received a very nice trophy. The varsity boys team had a solid 4th place finish. The Frosh/Soph boys and Frosh/Soph girls team placed 4th and 5th respectively.

Several athletes are waiting to find out if they have qualified for the prestigious Stanford Invitational held on March 25 & 26. Accepted entries will be posted March 18.

The next meet for the Trojans is the 73rd Annual Le Febvre Relays on March 19 at Placer High School. The meet starts at 9 a.m.
