Trojan tennis goes out fighting

DAVIS — Oak Ridge needed its best in its Sac-Joaquin Section Division I quarterfinal tennis match at Davis Monday and got it but the host Blue Devils still squeaked out the 5-4 win.

The Lady Trojans won three of the five matches that extended to three sets. In all five, Oak Ridge rallied after dropping the first set.

“It doesn’t get much closer than that. Just goes to prove how small the difference between winning and losing can be sometimes,” Oak Ridge coach Ralph Clark said. “The girls came to play today and as a coach, that’s all you can ask for.”

The Trojans finish with an overall record of 16-8, 10-2 in the Delta River League. Senior Julia Dunnigan and junior Tori Trylovich were both selected to the all league team.
