CLOVIS — Oak Ridge wrestler Keaton Subjeck, who will be a junior this fall, took third place after three days of wrestling in both the Western States Championships and the America’s Cup Championship held back-to-back at Clovis High School May 27-29.

Wrestling in the 18-and-under, 165-pound division Sunday in the Western States Championships, Subjeck took third with his only loss coming against Florida state champion Juan Alvardo, who won the tournament.

Kaden West, 95 pounds, who wrestled in the 10-and-under bracket, took fourth. Both wrestlers were coached by Ben West and former Oak Ridge wrestler Kyle West.

The America’s Cup Championship, held Friday and Saturday, included 20 Elite High School All Star Dual Teams from all over the nation. Teams from Michigan, Arizona, Florida, Nevada and Oregon competed along with several teams from California that included state champions and placers.

Subjeck was selected to be on the Sac-Joaquin Section Gold team, which included the top wrestlers from the section. Subjeck lost just one match to the state champion from Michigan.
