Trojans do well at Stanford Invitational

Oak Ridge athletes earned personal bests at the Stanford Track & Field Invitational held at Stanford University on April 6 & 7.

Seventeen Trojans (nine girls and eight boys) competed at the event, which hosts California high school teams as well as college teams throughout the nation.

Lady Trojans
Lexi Davenport – 100m dash, 13.04, 31st overall; Maxine Goyette – 1 mile run, 5:16.81, 14th overall; Holli Arrieta – 1 mile run, 5:23.96, 26th overall; Ellie Velez – 3,000m run, 10:39.94, 14th overall; Shannon Trumbull – 100m hurdles, 15.48 in finals for 6th place, 15.32 in prelims for 3rd in heat and 400m hurdles, 66.53, 4th overall; Jessica Emde – high jump, 4 feet, 11 inches, tied for 11th place; girls’ 4 x 100m relay (Michaela Kelsey, Lexi Davenport, Jasmine Pears, Shannon Trumbull), 51.50, 29th in prelims and  girls’ 4 x 800m relay (Maxine Goyette, Ellie Velez, Mikayla Mefford, Holli Arrieta), 9:47.71, 7th overall.

Trojans
Sean McHone – 1 mile run, 4:27.98, 23rd overall; Dusty Armstrong – 3,000m run, 9:22.72, 31st overall; Zach Youngberg – 110m hurdles, 15.65, 15th in prelims and 400m hurdles, 59.54, 20th overall; Shay Mueller – long jump, 19 feet 6 inches, 12th overall; 4 x 400m relay (Shay Mueller, Sean Yves Diei, Zach Youngberg, Jacob Sipes), 3:31.31, 19th overall; 4 x 800m relay (Evan Baxter, Zach Thornton, Jake Zeltner, Sean McHone), 8:32.26, 22nd overall; and boys’ distance medley (Sean McHone, Jacob Sipes, Evan Baxter, Jake Zeltner), 10:56.00, 11th overall.

The next meet for the Oak Ridge track and field teams will be the Thunder Invitational held at Rocklin High School on Saturday, April 14. The meets starts at 9 a.m. This will be a very competitive invitational with 40 schools attending.
