Trojans hit the field for non-profits

Oak Ridge High School football has partnered with Football for Families in support of foster children in need, creating an event for the entire family.

Enjoy seven football games in two days at the 2012 Football for Families Showcase Event  on Friday, Sept. 7, and Saturday, Sept. 8, at Oak Ridge High School’s stadium.

The schedule is as follows:

Friday
• 4 p.m. — Oak Ridge JV vs. Johnson JV

• 6 p.m. — Placer vs. Foothill

• 8:30 p.m. — Valley Christian vs. Durham

Saturday
• 10 a.m. — Casa Roble vs. Fruitland

• 1 p.m. — Johnson vs. La Grande, Oregon

• 4 p.m. — McClymonds vs. Minico, Idaho

• 7 p.m. — Oak Ridge varsity vs. Washington High

Admission is $10; An ORHS Sports Booster Gold Card gets you in the gate for all showcase games.

Part of the proceeds from the event go to support Football for Families and Sierra Forever Families, which are non-profit organizations that assist foster children in need. Football for Families is also collecting new and gently used backpacks for foster children. Bring your donation to the games.
