Sisters Sophia, right, and Sage Barden of El Dorado Hills both won National Championships in their age groups at the U. S. Twirling Association’s National Baton Twirling Competition held this year in Little Rock, Ark., July 11-16.

More than 600 twirlers attended. Sophia, 10, won the Solo and Dance Twirl competition. Little sister Sage, 5 1/2, won the Solo, 2-Baton and Dance Twirl in the under 6 division.

Sophia has been twirling for five years and Sage has been twirling for on-and-a-half years. They are both members of the Revolution Twirl Club under the direction of Kellie Donovan-Perlman.
