Varsity volleyball flies over Eagles, Golden Eagles

The Oak Ridge boys varsity volleyball team knocked down two of its opponents in matches as easy as 1 … 2 … 3.

Monday night the Trojans took on Vista Del Lago and won in three games — 25-15, 25-21 and 25-18.

Chris Gomm and Jonathan Tuttle dominated the net with six kills each while Jack Hoisington and Nate Lambert nailed two aces apiece. Lambert also contributed some important digs while Connor Dunham’s assists and Storm VanSoldt’s blocks ensured a win over the Eagles.

The three-games-in-a-row streak continued Tuesday night when the Trojans played Del Oro. They clipped the Golden Eagles’ wings 25-11, 25-21 and 25-21.

Tuttle again banked the most kills with nine. Tim Spykerman added five of his own, plus two aces and some impressive blocks. Lambert showed his worth on the court with the most digs and Dunham had the most assists.

Oak Ridge will play at Rocklin at 6 p.m. Thursday and against Pleasant Valley at Ponderosa High school on Friday.
