Jail library program engages inmates

El Dorado County Library and Friends of the Library volunteers have delivered more than 500 books to the El Dorado County Jail in Placerville over the last five months. The newly created library is utilized by many inmates, according to Lt. Jon Eslick with the El Dorado County Sheriff’s Office.

Donated books are brought from the library to the jail by Friends of the Library volunteers at least once a month. Deputies search the books for contraband and deliver the boxes to a secure room inside the jail.

CPCSD getting finances back on track

Cameron Park Community Services District Director Amy Blackmon missed her third consecutive meeting as the CPCSD Board of Directors met on July 26. Director Margaret Mohr was also absent.
