Sacramento Restaurant Week is back

By August 13, 2017

Many regional restaurants — including The Melting Pot, Broderick Roadhouse, The Patriot and more — are gearing up to participate in this year’s Sacramento Restaurant Week, Sept. 8-17. Farm-to-Fork Restaurant Week is a celebration of the region’s premiere dining destinations and the bounty of local seasonal ingredients that surround us within a 150-mile radius of the downtown core.

The event will showcase the Sacramento region as the culinary powerhouse that it is, with area restaurants hosting special events, featuring new menus and providing opportunities to meet the farmers, winemakers and craft brewers who make Sacramento America’s Farm-to-Fork Capital.

In the past few years Sacramento’s dining scene has exploded with additional restaurants, new varieties of foods, exciting concepts and the rise of craft beer and creative libations. Locals and visitors alike will have the opportunity to celebrate this exciting time, selecting from a variety of menus with plenty of options at every price point and style of cuisine.

Some restaurants will offer three-course, prix-fixe menus at discounted pricing, while others will run daily specials, all featuring local ingredients from regional purveyors. Dining options will span Sacramento’s downtown core and surrounding areas including Roseville, El Dorado Hills, Lodi, Folsom, Davis, West Sacramento, Elk Grove and more.

Farm-to-Fork Restaurant Week is produced by the California Restaurant Association Sacramento Chapter. A portion of all proceeds made during the 10-day event will be donated to ProStart, powered by CRA Foundation. ProStart is a two-year career exploration and training program for high school students interested in the hospitality industry.

“What Farm to Fork week does is highlight our local restaurants’ use of local produce while also raising money for PRO START, a program aimed at preparing high school students for a career in the hospitality industry,” explained Mike Frampton of The Melting Pot. “Sacramento Restaurant Week is a win-win for everyone — our guests get to try our delicious dishes; we use local produce and we help develop our next generation of budding restaurateurs.”
