A passion for crafting sparked the idea to hold the first annual Friends of the Cameron Park Library Winter Craft Bazaar. The library’s circulation supervisor Barbara Garcia made wine totes in her free time and library aide Hiliary Simon loves to crochet.

There will be 22 other craft vendors displaying their wares in the Cameron Park Library Thursday, Dec. 12, from 8 a.m. until 2 p.m.. Items include yard art, homemade soaps, dried flowers, quilts, decorated gourds, jewelry, gift baskets and more.

From 8 a.m. to noon the library will be closed for all book business, but guests are encouraged to come in and shop for Christmas presents or just browse and enjoy complimentary Peet’s Coffee and cookies. Vendors paid $25 for a table at the event and those proceeds will be used to purchase new books, according to Garcia.

“We’re hoping for a nice, steady crowd all day,” she said. “It’s good for the vendors and we hope to make a little money for the library.”
