A 25-year-old El Dorado Hills man died in a solo vehicle wreck Monday evening.

At approximately 6:35 p.m. Chad Bockmann, driving a 1990 Ford F150, collided with two trees on Lakehills Drive in El Dorado Hills, according to the California Highway Patrol report.

“A witness stated Bockmann was driving north on Lakehills Drive at a high rate of speed when his vehicle started to drift over the double yellow lines,” the CHP report states. “Bockmann allowed his vehicle to continue to drift across the southbound lane and onto the shoulder, where it struck a tree with the front of the vehicle … and struck another tree with the right side of the vehicle.”

Bockmann was reportedly not wearing his seatbelt and suffered fatal blunt force trauma. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

CHP is investigating the crash and officials said they have not ruled out the possibility that alcohol and/or drugs were a factor.
