Heat, power outages plague EDH

El Dorado Hills saw triple-digit temperatures for six consecutive days last week, rare for this early in the summer. According to the National Weather Service, which has tracked records in the region for approximately 100 years, there have only been 10 instances when the area has experienced five or more consecutive days with temperatures reaching above 100 degrees in June.

County budget approved

The El Dorado County Board of Supervisors approved a $536 million budget at the June 20 meeting, allowing the county to continue funding its operations between the start of the new fiscal year, July 1, and when the board approves the final budget in September. Firefighters make quick work of small grass fire

A vegetation fire prompted evacuations on and around Arroyo Vista Lane Thursday.

El Dorado Hills firefighters responded to the fire and contained the flames to 2 acres. No structures were lost though a fence was damaged. No injuries were reported.

Here fishy, fishy

You don’t need to go far to take your child or grandchild to fish. The El Dorado Hills Community Services District, in partnership with the county Fish & Game Commission, will plant 350 freshwater fish in total this Friday morning, June 23, at Governor’s Park and restocking the fish at Serrano’s Village Green pond.
