EID race, Division 2: Greg Prada wants to keep EID from sinking

Running in El Dorado Irrigation District Division 2 is Greg Prada who lives in Cameron Park. His campaign website is prada4ratepayers.org. While declining to say his age, the county recorder listed his age as 63. That same bio describes him as having been the president, chief executive officer and a member of the board of […]

Prada censure — the truth

EDITOR: On Nov. 10, 2014, EID’s board “censured” Director Greg Prada for “threatening litigation” against any ratepayer that voiced an “opinion” contrary to his own. Prada’s censure had nothing to do with “telling ratepayers the truth” about EID, as Prada claims. It had 100 percent to do with “ratepayers telling the truth” about Prada and his attempts […]

Coco, Prada win EID seats

In a campaign during which the candidates often seemed to run more against the district than each other, two new members have been elected to the El Dorado Irrigation District Board of Directors. In Division 2, retired CEO Greg Prada won out over retired analyst Richard Englefield, 59 percent to 39 percent. In Division 4, Dr. […]

Coco, Prada endorsed

Our editorial board having spent nearly an hour each with three candidates running for the El Dorado Irrigation District board, we have a different take on them than many of the establishment groups supporting one candidate or another. For Division 4, it was crystal clear to us that Dr. Dale Coco is an outstanding candidate […]

County takes regional approach in water rights application

The El Dorado Water and Power Authority and the El Dorado County Water Agency held back-to-back meetings Sept. 13, with the most important agenda item being an update on EDWPA’s water rights application.

Previously EDWPA filed an application with the State Water Resources Control Board for the right to 40,000 acre-feet of water stored in the reservoirs of the Sacramento Municipal Utility District.
