Best Bakery, Fruit/Produce, Grocery Store and Health Food Store: Nugget Market

By From page RC7 | April 24, 2013

When Nugget Market opened in El Dorado Hills in 2008, it set a new standard for food display.

“All the décor is done in-house by associate design teams,” said store manager Craig Brady.

And just as important as the display is the quality. Nugget partners with Nor-Cal Produce to bring the freshest and most varied selection of produce around. Products produced locally are marked with a “Local” icon and USDA certified organic products are labeled.

Shoppers will also notice wafts for fresh-baked bread tempting their noses. Nugget Market’s bakery features daily made cookies, rolls and artisan breads made from scratch using organic grains.

The grocery store also carries specialty cheeses, delicious desserts and quick meals, as well as a healthy selection of herbs, supplements and vitamins.

Brady said the store stays in tune with its customers tastes. “Thai food is growing in popularity,” he said. “Greek yogurt is another favorite.”

And if customers don’t see what they want on the shelves, Brady said he’s happy to hear their suggestions. “We love and encourage feedback.”

The Stille family opened the first store in Woodland in 1926 and continues to run the company, earning rave reviews from customers and employes. For the past six years Nugget Market has ranked in Fortune magazine’s 100 Best Companies to Work For. They encourage creativity and responsibility in all their employees.

Nugget Market is located at 4500 Post St. in El Dorado Hills. For more information call (916) 933-1433 or visit nuggetmarket.com.
