Dean Davis and Will Sharp want to chill out your ride. They’ve been installing automotive window tinting in Shingle Springs since 2003 and now have a second location in the Autotronics building in the La Borgota parking lot, visible from El Dorado Hills Boulevard.

The tinting material is a thin adhesive polyester film with a lifetime warranty. “It’s come a long way since the beginning,” said Davis, who recalls earlier generations of film that bubbled and faded, neither of which is a problem these days.

Window film blocks solar heat and harmful UV rays. It increases the life of automotive interiors and perhaps even the drivers, because it also knocks down hazardous glare. It even deters smash-and-grab robbers.

Prices start around $200. Stop by or call (530) 622-6713 for an appointment. Installation takes about three hours. Local shuttle service is provided free.
