Best barbecue: Boucanes Smokehouse

By From page RC29 | May 07, 2014

If the sweet, smoky smell of quite possibly the world’s best barbecue Boucanes Smokehouse doesn’t get your mouth watering … get your taste buds checked.

It only took a little more than a year for Boucanes Smokehouse, owns by brother and sister Brandon Ivey and Nicole Burton, to become a bona fide culinary destination.

“The cooks, the people, the barbecue sauce (are) awesome,” said frequent customer Kim Smith. “You can’t beat it.”

Everything on the Southern-style barbecue restaurant’s menu is homemade from scratch. Ivey and Burton used family recipes with modern flare to create delicious pulled pork, ribs, brisket and much more. Combine those delicious meats with all the traditional barbecue sides and you’ve got an unforgettable meal.

“We love what we do and I think that comes through in the food,” Ivey explained.

The passion for great barbecue¬†certainly has been passed on to their loyal customers; one man announced his arrival while still in the parking lot and warned people to get out of his way … he’s here for his ribs.

Burton said she and the rest of the Boucanes family are grateful for the community’s support and urged holdouts to “give us a try.”

Boucanes Smokehouse is located at 1091 White Rock Road in El Dorado Hills. For more information call (916) 221-8897 or visit boucanes.com.
