Freedom ’02 wins Clasico tourney

By August 18, 2011

Congratulations to American River Futbol Club Freedom ’02 Girls U10 soccer team on winning their first championship at the Davis Legacy’s Super Clasico Tournament, Aug. 13-14.

After a tough 4-3 loss to North Bay’s ’01 Galaxy in the first game, Freedom ’02 came back to win game 2, 3-0, against Cal Blues’ Fury ’02. A 1-1 tie in game 3 with Sacramento North Kick Kats advanced the girls to the finals where they once again played North Bay’s ’01 Galaxy.

Not to be defeated this time, Freedom was ready. The girls played with lots of passion, passing and took shots at every opportunity. The Freedom ’02 girls prevailed and went on to win the championship game 3-0.
