Coming off a big win in its previous game against St. Francis the night before, Oak Ridge was defeated Saturday in a home contest against the San Ramon Valley Wolves. The Trojans fought hard and were tied at 5 goals apiece at halftime, but eventually fell to the Wolves by a score of 12-6.

The Trojans came out playing strong defense and were looking to attack on offense. After a few successful chances for both teams, the Trojans Morgan Delwiche connected for a nice goal on a great dump-off pass by Emma Reed to tie the game 2-2.

Reed then picked up a goal of her own as the end of the first half neared, which tied up the game at 5-5 heading into halftime.

Right out of the gate in the second half, San Ramon Valley picked up a goal to take the lead. However, with 10 minutes left to play, Oak Ridge responded with a game tying goal from Skylar Schuette who had an excellent game offensively.

Unfortunately for the Trojans, that was the last of their goals. San Ramon Valley went on to score six unanswered goals to win the match, three of which were scored very late as the game was already all but decided.

For Oak Ridge, Schuette was very productive netting a team-high three goals. Delwiche picked up one goal, Sydney Gunderson one goal, and Reed racked up a goal and an assist. Despite the loss the Trojans have a 4-2 early season record.
