Tough loss in the pool

Oak Ridge girls water polo team fell to league opponent Granite Bay, 6-5, in a Sept. 20 match at the El Dorado Hills Community Services District pool

The score was tied 3-3 at half time but Granite Bay came out strong in the third quarter, adding two more goals to its score. The Trojans responded with one goal and then each team scored another goal in the fourth. Oak Ridge’s late turnovers allowed Granite Bay to finish the game with a one-point win.

ORHS sophomore Rachel Kowalchick scored three goals and seniors Taylor Carlson and Eryqa Flores had one goal each. Goalie Kate Green-Jones had 12 stops to keep it close.
