Track & Field: Exceptional meet for Trojans

EL DORADO HILLS — It was a great meet for the Oak Ridge track and field athletes at their first home Delta River League meet of the season March 16. Oak Ridge won all four divisions: varsity boys: Oak Ridge 102, Pleasant Grove 33; varsity girls: Oak Ridge 75, Pleasant Grove 51; frosh/soph boys: Oak Ridge 73, Pleasant Grove 58; and frosh/soph girls: Oak Ridge 70, Pleasant Grove 33.

Many athletes obtained personal bests. Junior Jacob Sipes had an exceptional meet by earning four, first places for the varsity boys team. Jacob anchored the 4 x 100 relay team (44.16) with Dominick Worsham, Nick Menendez and Bryce Williams; and the 4 x 400 relay team (3:34.21) with Jean-Yves Diei, Matt Monet, Worsham). Jacob placed first in his first 300m hurdle race with a time of 40.63 and placed first in the 200m dash with a time of 22.45.

Oak Ridge will compete at the prestigious Stanford Track and Field Invitational on Friday and Saturday.
