Oak Ridge 8, El Camino 5: Lady Trojan pitcher Christina Arace held El Camino scoreless through five innings, before the Eagles put four runs on the board in the sixth inning. Relief pitcher Alyssa Burns gave up one in the seventh before a double play ended a bases-loaded jam to send the game into extra innings where she picked up the win. The Trojans took an early lead, keyed by two doubles by Lauren Bertoy and homeruns by Caitlyn Olan and Jackie Schmaeling. With two outs in the eighth, Olan reached on error and senior Ana Campos hit a two run homerun to put the girls ahead for good. Michelle Bardini singled, stole second and came home after her sister Renee Bardini drove her in with a single of her own.


Oak Ridge 8, Franklin 1

Oak Ridge 3, Elk Grove 1 — Sophomore Austin Root held the top-ranked Thundering Herd to three hits and one run in six and two-thirds innings to pick up his second win of the season Thursday. The Trojans scored three runs in the top of the first inning as Alec deWatteville doubled and scored on Mason Watkins’ (2-for-3) RBI single.  Ground outs from Cody Morris and Lance Berringer plate the other two. Jaren Ross picked up the save for Oak Ridge.

Oak Ridge 1, Yuba City 2 — The host Honkers pushed across runs in the sixth and seventh innings to win Saturday’s nonleague game.

Oak Ridge boys 111, Pleasant Grove 52
Seniors Garrison Yeandle won the 200 IM with a time of 2:03.51 and the 100 freestyle at 49.60 seconds for the Trojans. Sophmore Trevor Dong also took top honors in the 50 freestyle at 22.69 and the 500 freestyle at 5:22.62.
Oak Ridge girls 118, Pleasant Grove 52
Freshmen power ruled for the Lady Trojans, as Kayla Rios was first in the 200 IM with a time of 2:17.30 and the 500 free at 5:29.01. Morgan Jones was first in the 50 free at 26.59 and the 100 free at 58.03.
In diving, Jordan Gotro recorded 279.90 for the boys and Sydney Newman had a 173.40 for the girls to a victory each.
“Half way throught the season and we are 3-0 for both boys and girls in (the Delta River League,” Oak Ridge coach Patrick Foster said. “With our toughest opponet coming up next week (Tuesday, March 27 at Jesuit for boys) I am very excited to see how we step up to the level of competition. We continue to work hard and are getting better every week. I extremely proud of everyone’s efforts to this point.”
